Monica Levy- Leapsmart Founder

Monica Levy founded Leapsmart in 2008 after many years as a movement teacher and preschool education specialist. She experienced, firsthand, the need for programs that incorporate children’s intellect, creativity and emotional awareness. Her focus on integrating  brain and body led her to develop the Leapsmart preschool programs for children that have been enjoyed by thousands of children in preschools throughout New York, Boston, and Connecticut.

Prior to her career as a Professional Development Specialist, Monica was a modern dance choreographer. Her works were  performed by companies such as the Boston Ballet and Washington ballet, among others. She received numerous awards, including grants from the Fulbright  foundation and the National endowments for the arts.

Monica Levy became a certified trainer through NYSAEYC in 2013 and since that time has presented numerous  trainings covering a wide range of topics from Integrating movement into the classroom to handling challenging behaviors.  Since 2014 she was invited to present keynote speeches for several educational organizations and conferences such as the Lutheran Schools Association and the Archdiocese of Brooklyn Educational conference.

She has been a CLASS compliant observer since 2016, and since that time has coached hundreds of educators in CLASS best practices.

Currently Monica Levy is an educational consultant with several schools such as Union Settlement in NY and Family Centers in Greenwich CT- coaching educators on how best to maximize learning and engagement.
